Catherine practises primarily in criminal law, coronial inquests and quasi-criminal matters. She has experience as an advocate in both state and commonwealth criminal matters.
Catherine has appeared in the Magistrates’ and County Courts including pleas, contested bail applications, contested committals and contested summary hearings.
Prior to joining the Bar, Catherine was a Senior Federal Prosecutor at the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions in the Illegal Imports & Exports/Human Exploitation and Border Protection branch.
Catherine began her career in 2004 as a solicitor at the NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. From 2007- 2014 she was a State Prosecutor at the Director of Public Prosecutions for Western Australia, where she appeared as counsel without a leader in jury trials. During that time she was seconded to the Coroner’s Court of Western Australia as Counsel Assisting, resulting in a permanent appointment to that role in 2014. She has appeared as Counsel Assisting in numerous coronial inquests.
Catherine is reading with Francesca Holmes and her senior mentor is Mark Rochford QC.
